To Remember the Fallen

 Memorial

Day

To enjoy the day we will celebrate on the patio!
There are parades, prayer services and memorial events to remember the fallen that gave their lives keeping us safe. Most of us believe this is the beginning of summer, we will enjoy with family and friends. Even the pup is waiting for the dog days of summer!

The table is set with red, white and blue colors. The centerpiece displays a wicker tray, red wire basket with the red vase of  patriotic colored flowers.
The flags are flying in the breeze!
A red shiny hat with silver stars is the beginning theme of the tablescape.
A mouse celebrates with his blue and red shiny hat while standing ready to light his firecracker!
The girl mouse shakes her sparkly blue pompom!
The bread and butter has a great flag pattern.
Salad on red stripes with a rim of blue with white stars!

White basket weave dinner plate placed on the red woven place mat  to enjoy the entree of barbecue! The red tumbler with serve iced tea or lemonade do to the 90+ temperatures. So tea in Texas will be either sweet or raspberry flavor. The red ramekin is used to serve individual extra sauce.
Flags are remembered with the napkins and flatware. The red glass votive holder reminds me of fireworks and will be lighted at dusk.
Dessert of pecan pie will be served in the seating area
 a la mode. Yummy!
The blue shiny hat with silver stars is the basis for the centerpiece on the coffee table.
Stars and Stripes figures are centered on the wicker tray.
Stars stands in front of the red lanterns ready to be lit.
 Stripes smiles with happiness.
The table is set and
my sweetheart is relaxing
and dreaming of his pecan pie a la mode!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Remember our fallen soldiers on this special day!

UPDATE: Our prayers go out to the families effected by the destructive tornado in Moore, OK. This may be worse than the tornado which hit there in 1999 and it killed
40 and was the worst tornado in the US history. This the 4th tornado to demolish the area of Moore in the last 15 years. The saddest part is the elementary school being hit and the deaths of the young children.

Also pray for Grandbury, Texas and the surrounding areas close to the tornado destruction near Dallas Ft. Worth for 6 lives were lost and hundreds of homes destroyed. The storm had 11 tornadoes and was just a few days earlier.
