To Remember the Fallen

 Memorial

Day

To enjoy the day we will celebrate on the patio!
There are parades, prayer services and memorial events to remember the fallen that gave their lives keeping us safe. Most of us believe this is the beginning of summer, we will enjoy with family and friends. Even the pup is waiting for the dog days of summer!

The table is set with red, white and blue colors. The centerpiece displays a wicker tray, red wire basket with the red vase of  patriotic colored flowers.
The flags are flying in the breeze!
A red shiny hat with silver stars is the beginning theme of the tablescape.
A mouse celebrates with his blue and red shiny hat while standing ready to light his firecracker!
The girl mouse shakes her sparkly blue pompom!
The bread and butter has a great flag pattern.
Salad on red stripes with a rim of blue with white stars!

White basket weave dinner plate placed on the red woven place mat  to enjoy the entree of barbecue! The red tumbler with serve iced tea or lemonade do to the 90+ temperatures. So tea in Texas will be either sweet or raspberry flavor. The red ramekin is used to serve individual extra sauce.
Flags are remembered with the napkins and flatware. The red glass votive holder reminds me of fireworks and will be lighted at dusk.
Dessert of pecan pie will be served in the seating area
 a la mode. Yummy!
The blue shiny hat with silver stars is the basis for the centerpiece on the coffee table.
Stars and Stripes figures are centered on the wicker tray.
Stars stands in front of the red lanterns ready to be lit.
 Stripes smiles with happiness.
The table is set and
my sweetheart is relaxing
and dreaming of his pecan pie a la mode!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
Remember our fallen soldiers on this special day!

Each week I love visiting, Rose Chintz Cottage, Artful Affirmations, Cuisine Kathleen,
Seasonal Sundays and Between Naps on the Porch plus The Tablescaper. Their link button can be found on the right side of my blog and you will enjoy their
great postings! A special  theme at Cuisine Kathleen
was the fun reason for these photos!

UPDATE: Our prayers go out to the families effected by the destructive tornado in Moore, OK. This may be worse than the tornado which hit there in 1999 and it killed
40 and was the worst tornado in the US history. This the 4th tornado to demolish the area of Moore in the last 15 years. The saddest part is the elementary school being hit and the deaths of the young children.

Also pray for Grandbury, Texas and the surrounding areas close to the tornado destruction near Dallas Ft. Worth for 6 lives were lost and hundreds of homes destroyed. The storm had 11 tornadoes and was just a few days earlier.

Hi Pam,
I love the Memorial Day Tribute! It is so very patriotic.

I have two sons and a daughter and hope to persuade them to let me photograph them for my blog someday.

We spend many days in the U.S. at our cottage there and so even though we are Canadians - we do adore the red, white and blue and we have many friends and family members that live there!

Thank you for commenting at Karen's Cottage and Castle.
Take care,
Karen

Hi Pam, what a fun, patriotic table you've set on the patio. You have the cutest accessories to make your table so festive. I'll be right over to wait with your hubby for a slice of pecan pie.., it's my favorite. Your sweet prayers were so very thoughtful at the end of your post.

Your patriotic table is fabulous, I love every great detail! The centerpiece is adorable and the flag plates are beautiful! I'd love to make one, but I don't have many elements, as there are none here for sale, except for some things in R,W&B I can find around the stores. Soo festive! Big hugs,

Well, your table has made me smile. I'm a fan of red, white, and blue and of our US flag. Every detail is filled with patriotic charm. Love the flatware. I've never seen flag flatware.
As for the dog days of summer........I fear they are upon us here in Austin. The past few days have been hot and humid. Too early!

What a beautiful set up all around!!! I love that you did the seating area for dessert to complement the dining area! LOVE THAT!!! I also really like those hats...I'd wear those in a heartbeat! I guess I'm a little bit country AND a little bit rock 'n roll! :-)

I hope you guys find some drought relief soon. I think I understood the weather report to say that Texas for the most part is still thirsty. We have pretty much caught up here in the Kansas City, MO area. Hallelujah for that!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend, and thank you for sharing this great tablescape!!!

Great patriotic table, Pam!
We have many of the same items, ie the basketweave plates & the little red condiment bowls. I forgot all about mine so I'm getting them out, in preparation for July 4th. Thanks for the reminder!

Have a peaceful Memorial Day,
fondly,
