Fond of Fish

I'm fond of fish in the ocean, in the sea,
in the lakes and rivers, or even in a aquarium!
Imagine the aqua tablecloth as the body of water, the blue hydrangea
are flora and fauna.
The white ceramic fish teapot is swimming along the sea!
A new beginning because of my husband, he suggested we start with
a blank slate! The very basis of the tablescape is the aqua tablecloth
and the woven place mat with a dark aqua fabric binding.
Cobalt blue dinner plates create the next layer for the table!
The dinner plate ......
holds the lovely cut-out fish salad plate with the textured scales.
A table full of fish plates .....
with each plate surrounded by aqua and white lattice flatware and a navy napkin.
The cobalt and clear crystal flute repeats the same design
as the flatware. A cold sparkling water will
bring the sea to the table.
The blue hydrangeas placed in the blue milk bottle vase centers around the fish teapot.
The four blue vases raise the flowers high above for easy conversation
 across the table.

Each end of the table is set with a pretty dolphin shape candle holder
and a large fish shape serving plate.
A close-up of the dolphin candle holder and
the serving plate!
The shadows of the sun .....
give the table a soft glow! As the sun sets, we will repose to the
living room to have dessert with coffee or tea.

That is a very unique teapot, Pam. I love all the aqua and blue! Those fish plates are very cute too. You know, my son made me a ceramic fish vase when he was in high school and I never cared for it. I never told him that of course. But now, I see them everywhere and I'm very happy to have one which my sweet son made for me. I proudly display it every summer. Thanks for sharing and coming to tea.

Blessings,
Sandi

You were next on my list to visit because of your catchy title, and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the way the elements played out, with you teasing us as you introduced the next fishy item. The glass dolphins are stunning, and I love the way the flatware and the cobalt glasses carry the crosshatch texture. Just beautiful!

Oh how lovely - what a pretty summertime tablescape you have created!

I believe that candle is a Coi Fish, considered quite lucky to the Chinese. : - ) And lucky for YOU because you have it!

I just love aqua blue on a table, and you have created a very nice one indeed.

LOVE THE FISH. That teapot is adorable, as are the plates. I have clear fish plates and platters, but the white ones are spectacular.

What a pretty table! Your husband was right! :-)

How are the pups doing?
Ours are already asking for their dinner a little earlier each week -- getting ready for the clocks to change in a couple of months! They really plan ahead.

All best wishes, Cass
