My 2009 Easter Table

" Happy Easter!", shouts Father Pinky Bunny as he twirls his cane to welcome you to the Easter Time Party with all his Bunny friends. Next to Father is Purple Bunny, Jr. and the twins, Miss Lilac and Mr. Lavender.

Mother Pinky Bunny is greeting you with a hop in her step. Her daughter, Miss Princess Bunny is telling you, " Come sit a spell and enjoy your Easter stay." The other little bunnies are gathered as well for cousins have come all dressed in their best Easter finery.

A place is set for Peter Cottontail, we will have Easter cake on the bunny plate and carrot juice in the lavender goblet. If you eat too much we can offer you some chamomile tea in the tiny green cups.

The teapot is ready and there is cream and sugar if you care for some. It is time sit and partake of the feast.

Oh! You can sit at the head of the table. Cousin Mr. Green Bunny will be glad to sit with you.

Here is another chair, I see you brought a friend so let's be seated. Mother Pinky Bunny will lead us in song, "The Easter Parade".

Just be sure and don't bump your Easter bonnet on the shiny Easter eggs. The Easter bunny family can get a little tipsy with the singing and all the carrot juice flowing. Don't forget there is always chamomile tea to soothe you and those precious playful bunnies.

Easter Living Room

Welcome to the Easter House of Bunny! This is the entrance hall and Miss Party Bunny is saying hello as she flips her yellow feather boa at you.

We see Mr. Cook Bunny leading the Party Parade all over the house. You should be sure to stop and smell the tulips as you pass by.

A tray is waiting for you, as Little Miss Pinkie Frou Frou asks you to join her in a cup of bunny tea. Don't forget to hold up your pinkie finger to show your best party etiquette.

Mother Duck in her adorable spring bonnet and her two ducklings, Dollie Duck and Dandy Duck, sit waiting for you. See if you can pluck one of the Easter surprises from their Easter basket without ruffling their feathers.

Oh, the tiny colorful bunnies are parked on the mantle with their color coordinated sack of jelly beans. There are even bunny shaped baskets of eggs for you to admire. Do you think there is flower flavored tea in the lovely buttercup teapot?

The other tiny bunnies are playing under the Buttercup Flower Basket. Would you like to play with them and help find all the Easter eggs?

The mantle is decorated with festive Easter Egg ribbon garland. Please, untie the tiny Easter buckets and help the tiny bunnies place all their Easter treats in them.

Saint Patrick's Day

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day is always a great tradition since there is an ancestor or two in my background from the Isle of Ireland. The over all table of various shades of green gives a festive air to helping with the mood of the day. It makes me think of the song phrase " and the lilt of Irish laughter" from the song "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling."

The pale green table cloth is grounded by the green stripe place mats. A center plate is yellow majolica with a scattering of green shamrocks which is surrounded by the celery green handled silverware. The green and yellow enameled demitasse cup and saucer is centered on the plate. Matching green filigreed Aynsley cup, saucer and tea plate flank each side of the shamrocks on the mat. On the tea plat, a ramekin is waiting for a dessert. A shamrock ornament tied with shamrock ribbon repeats the theme as the holder to the pale green napkin. Vintage green depression goblet anchors the top with the miniature green beer mug and tiny top hat.

One is playing a fiddle or violin for them to do a jig.

One of the mice stands on another Irish teapot with a Blarney stone for you to touch. Will it give you the luck of the Irish or am I telling the truth?

A large fellow is dancing a jig and playing a folk tune on top of a green shamrock. Is your foot tapping to the rhythm yet?

An Irish Dog with green spots will croon for you
"When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" if you pet him on his side.
He sits proudly on his mistresses shamrock apron waiting for his pet.


The final touch is a green shimming shamrock tied with the matching ribbon so if you still haven't gotten enough luck then just sit down and your wish will be granted.

Fireplace mantle garland of beads and tiny top hats are held

in place by shear green bows and large green party hats.

Red haired Leprechaun guards the entrance to the party

and motions for you to come in and stay for the fun.

If you need a spot of tea to liven you up for a song and a jig ,

the jonquil teapot is ready for you to pour into the green Aynsley

teacup. So come along and join the jolly good times

of a St. Patrick's Day Party.

More trees in early March

The beautiful blossoming bradford pear trees on our street are in full spring splendour.

This is the above trees at a different angle to the street.

Our other neighbor has a pear tree with a full canope of flowers.

The creek bed of our neighborhood has many flowering
bradford pear trees lining the path.
This path meanders it's way among the trees and gardens to the lake.


We sighted this smaller but abundantly heavy blossomed tree while shopping.

This shot of the pear tree shows just how close the blooms are.

Texas Spring comes in February

Polly DuPont is a terrific china and accessory shop in Richardson, Texas. The display outside of two rabbits is a Mr. and Mrs. Bunny for spring. They bring your eye right to the entrance of the store.

They both are dressed up for a walk and probably some shopping. They were just part of the wonderful decorations for spring. I enjoyed the table settings inside and the cute Easter items.

I went on a walk across the street to get a photo the neighbor's tulip tree. When sweetheart came home he drove me around the neighborhood to look for some of the springtime flowers.

Valentine Table

Valentine's Day is almost here and my table is ready for the day! Hope you can spot the theme for my table besides just being valentines.

The centerpiece is an Annalee mouse holding the sweetheart candies. A platter is on the bottom, a stationary valentine box, next the green glass cake stand, the white plate, and then a heart of tiny hearts for the mouse to stand on.

The place mat is pink linen with a dinner plate of pink "Old Britain Castles" by Johnson Bros. A dessert plate and mug of cherubs is by Fitz and Floyd. The silverware is purposely arranged with the pink and red on every other place. Finding the napkin from a tea towel with hearts and polka dots helps to coordinate the colors in the ribbons. A Pez candy holder is stuck inside the ribbons.



Hopefully you can tell, I have a theme of sweetheart conversation candy. The take out box has the conversation heart candy printed on the outside and the hearts inside. Above by the place setting is a box shaped like them. On the chairs are different color pillows with saying in the heart shape. Did you find any one conversation hearts?




The teapot coordinates with the cupids from F n F. Also included on the table, is the creamer, sugar bowl. salt, pepper and the planters filled with candy.

Mr. Bear is waiting for Valentine's Day and he is sitting on his sack to place all his gifts in.
